Scholarships are probably the best thing sice sliced bread. During my first year of college I talked to many people that were from out of state and usually all of them would complain about how expensive it was to attend. I soon learned to keep my mouth shut because I go for free. GOD BLESS THE PROMISE. Not only do I go to school for free during the fall and spring semester, but I also get a check each semester with money from additional scholarships that I get to bank. I have decided to take advantage of all the opputunities to get money during college while I can, instead of burrying myself deeper and deeper in debt.

Well, initially I received the Promise Scholarship from the state which paid for almost everything. On top of that I got an Achievement Scholarship because of my cumulative GPA from high school. Another huge factor was that I played three sports all through high school. I ended up being awarded a Triple Lettermen Scholarship along with other sports-related scholarships. So, if you are the least bit athletically inclined, I would definately recomend you try out for high school sports and you try to excell in them. As obvious in my case, you don't have to be really good at just one. If you choose to play multiple sports and are an average athlete you will get recognized for your hard work.

I am in desperate need of a scholarship. I want to apply for as many as I can. I have huge financial debt already and I am in serious need of some help. I have been denied for private loans because of a ton on medical bills that I have so loans are out of the question for me. I have already checked out some websites for scholarships but it seems that I am not having much luck......Anybody got any ideas on where I can apply for some scholarships?

There is a wealth of information for scholarships on the internet. It may take a while to look at all the websites, but the money is well worth it.

did you try getting the loan through your school. I know that my credit is not good, but through my school they have qualified me to get loans so that I can get my degree.

I think you are confused with the ScholarshipPoints.com website.

Each time you sign into the website you get a point. You earn points for other activities like referring others to the website, posting on the forums and entering bonus codes. Each month there is a drawing for a $250 scholarship. The winner is randomly chosen based on the number of entries a person has. Think of it like a raffle. The more raffle tickets you purchase the better your chance of winning the raffle. The scholarship points contest is the same idea. The more points you earn, the better your chance of winning.

The quarterly drawing is for $1000, again, the more points you've earned, the better your chances. At the end of each quarter, your point balance reverts to zero and you start building your point total up again.

You don't withdraw your points in exchange for money.
