Subsidized Loan Question.

Postby natenate1020 » Wed Jan 13, 2010 12:48 am

To my understanding, subsidized stafford loan's interest will be paid by the governement while in school... right?

Then this question crossed my mind recently. Say I take out a subsidized loan while I was in undergrad. And then I go to grad school. Does

that mean the interest will stop accruing and continue to be paid by the government while in grad school?

Yes, the interest will not accrue while you are in school, while you are in your grace period or during forbearance or deferment. This includes grad school!

Hello,
I took out a Stafford Loan when I was in junior college. I just graduated from a Division I college in July. I know after this month my grace period is up. I am trying to find out how to start paying off the loan but have no clue about how to find out where to go or who to contact. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
