Financial Aid didn't re fund me but states it did!

Postby Michaeln93 » Thu Mar 15, 2012 5:43 pm

(Is this an official Financial Aid forum? With like real financial aid representatives? :?: )

I will make this as simple as possible. I signed up for financial aid for the year 2011-2012. This is my financial aid reward letter.
BUDGET $11,908
EFC $0
NEED $11,908
TOTAL AWARD $6,733
UNMET NEED $5,175

PROGRAM AWARD TOTAL FALL SPRING SUMMER
FPELL Grant $5,550 $2,775 $2,775 $0
FSEOG Grant $100 $100

Resources $1,083
________ ________ ________ ________

Award Total $6,733 $2,775 $2,875 $0

As you can see, from the deduction of the Resources and fees for school, I am suppose to receive a total of $5604 for FALL 2012 and SPRING 2012. So far I have only received $4117 so I am still missing $1487.

This is my account summary for the financial aid.
Account Summary

0.00
Current Charges

46.00
Total Charges

46.00
Student Payments

0.00
Financial Aid Payments

5,650.00

Total Payments & Deferred Amounts

5,650.00

5,604.00

So the Financial Aid states that I already received all the money, but I did not receive the refund in my HigherOne account for the $1487. I chose the method 'Easy Refund' for my account so they couldn't have possibly send me a check or anything. Is there something wrong with the transaction process or is the school taking the money? I asked a few people at school and they told me they encountered the same problem.

Thanks in advance, Michael N.

Hi Michael,

This question would be better suited for your financial aid office or your loan servicer. It's hard to pinpoint any issues without knowing the whole story. If there is an issue with disbursement of funds, your school's financial aid office is the best resource for you.
