Postby nsimmons24 » Mon May 30, 2011 10:16 am

So today i logged on to set up a payment like i do every month for my student loan. When i logged it, i couldn't make a payment or do anything really. All it said was currently you have an account in loan origination. I don't have any clue what this means!! I tried to call the company but of course they are closed on memorial day. Can someone tell me whats going on? Or just give me a clue here?

Loan origination is the process of a borrower applying for a loan. It sounds like there might be an error with your account if you have not recently applied for a loan. If you have not contacted your lender, you should do so ASAP.

Loan origination refers to the initiation of the loan application process, which occurs when a borrower submits their financial information to a bank or mortgage lender for loan processing. Depending on documentation type, a borrower will have to supply certain credit, income, asset, and employment information to a specified bank or lender to initiate the underwriting of the loan application.
