Re-Applying for GradPlus Loan after denial

Postby indaoj24 » Wed Jun 24, 2009 8:57 am

I applied for a GradPlus loan about 4 months ago and based on the my credit report I was denied. Since then I have paid off a negative on my credit and made payments on another issue. I tried to reapply but the system said that since I already applied I needed a co-signer. I have finished all my doctral course work and all I have left are two residencies, I really need to get these done. What can I do? Can I somehow reapply based on new credit updates?? Thanks for your help.

Anxious to get done!

Yes you can reapply....but you may need to call in to do it. What lender did you apply with? If you want to reapply with that same lender you should call them so they can reset your account and you can apply online again.

I was denied at first for a grad plus loan and when I ask why the agent just told me to fax a statement saying I made payment arrangements with company or a statement saying I paid the account off. Once I did this I was approved. But when I first call (KHEAA -- approves all Grad plus loans1-800-928-8926) to get a status on my loan they said I was denied, I called back that same day because I know my credit was not that BAD and a nice guy looked at my file and told me to do what I just stated above. Hope this helps.
