Saving Money for future

Well I for one am not tha best example but I have learned that you have to budget and plan. Without these two spending methods you will end up broke. In this world we live in today everyone yearns for tha hottest thing out there or close to it whether it be clothes, shoes, cars, etc. So I mean I enourage those who are working and getting paid to (if you are old enough) get your own savings account that you have access to and start the process of using your money wisely now because if you start it later you already might be on tha street by then or still living at your parents house. So keep this in mind iight!!!!!!!1   8)

THE BEST ADVICE TO PROBABLY GIVE ANYBODY IS TO FILL OUT ALL FAFSA FORMS, GRANT, AND SCHOLARSHIPS ASAP.
I LEARNED THE HARD WAY, BUT I'LL BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO GET IT DONE THIS TIME!

The one thing I have learned about saveing is, when I get a refund check from the school, dont blow it on stupid stuff. I take half of it and I opened up another saveing account and each semester I put half of my refund check in it.

a college student saving money for the future is like a rabbid dog saving blood dripping and cooked meat for the future. It feels like the hardest thing to do, but we all know what fortunateness it can bring.

I love the quote listed above - classic! I agree that saving is extremely hard. Spending is so easy and gives you that instant gratification. I liken saving money to going on a diet. You struggle and struggle and struggle to shed those 8lbs, and then you give em all back on that one trip to the all you can eat buffet in your moment of weakness. All those weeks of hard work are gone. It is a struggle to save and not just blow your money on the next big thing! Saving isn't something you just turn on or off it's a mind set.

The power of discipline the rewards of time.

I finished my undergrad degree a few years back...and boy if I could do it all over again...
Heres my bitsyl list of what I would have done differently to save me some $$$

1. Lived with Mommy and Daddy. Free laundry, Nicely packed lunches, Delicious dinners and lots of hugs. You cant beat that.
2. I would have brown bagged it every day. Or at least taken advantage of the free food at club meetings. Instead I was at the BK Lounge or McD's.
3. I should have ALWAYS bought used textbooks. I was the loser that would go to the bookstore a few days after classes started. I learned quickly these worn out little gems get scooped up quickly by those who planned ahead. Just think... buying new is for suckers.
4. I wished I made sure I lived near a Trader Joes when i was in college. That Two Buck Chuck is a pretty good deal.

My advice...take it or leave it 8)

ha ha ha!
I have eaten many a buffet on my student loan!
But in the UK it only covers your rent at best and the interest rates are very high.
Advise 1000 new students not to blow their sudent loan in the first month and about 997 will come back from the student union and say "what student loan, I spent it tonight!"
It is only when you are 4 years later looking for work and seeing those letters come through the door that you realise it is important to plan your finances.
That's my opinion anyway.

I totally agree with a lot of you here that if we don’t use money wisely, we will either be on street or in our parents house. I would like to share one article that speaks about how to get into the habit of saving money.

It is very important to save money! Spend money wisely by buying only your necessities and refrain from buying things that are not worth enough.

If you can, you will quickly find that the greatest rate of return you will earn is on your own personal spending. Being a smart shopper is the first step to getting rich. ~ Mark Cuban
