student loans and 529 savings accounts

Can my son get a stafford, or other loan, and pay it back when he graduates from our 529 savings account? I would like the account to be able to grow for another few years!

Yes, if he is eligible for a Stafford loan which most students are. He just needs to fill out a FAFSA and let his financial aid office know that he wishes to borrow a Stafford loan.

Actually the question was can we use the 529 to pay back the loan after he graduates.

sorry, I misunderstood the question. You would have to ask an accountant for the answer to that question... sorry I couldn't help.
