Down Payment for Graduate School

Postby maggie07 » Fri Jan 29, 2010 8:44 am

Hello,

I was looking at Stafford Loans for grad. students and Graduate Plus loans to pay for a graduate degree program at a foreign school. I know the school receives the payment in two installments in Sept. and Jan. but my school is requiring the I pay 3075 euros just to reserve my place in the program, which means I would have to make the payment this spring (I was hoping to use loan money to pay for this as it is part of the tuition). Does anyone know if I apply for these types of loans, if the money can be sent to the school earlier than September?

You would have to look into applying for a Private Student Loan. I would suggest the Sallie Mae loan for international students. You can see all of your loan options, including Sallie Mae, at http://www.privatestudentloans.com/compare
