How do I know how much I owe so I can fill out a new fasfa?

Postby croellchen » Thu Feb 11, 2010 11:23 pm

I was in classes @ Ivy Tech in Indianapolis,Indiana and I got financial aid by completing a FASFA form. The FASFA gave me a Pell Grant because I am a single mom. In one of my classes my professor felt I was too advanced and wanted me to retake a placement test so I could take a class that would challenge me. I tool the test and she was right. I let her know that I tested above that class and she told me, through email (this was an online class), that we needed to drop the current class. It was already passed the deadline for ME to drop the class on my own so I was under the impression she was going to put te paperwork/requests in because that was the only way I could drop the class. She didn't do it and I ended up failing! So now I was told I have to pay back the money since I failed but no one seems to know how much I owe. HELP!!!!

You should contact your lender to see how much you owe. If you do not know who your lender is you should call borrower tracking at the Department of Education: 800.433.3243
