Need private loan for cost of living!

Postby danderson77 » Thu Oct 01, 2009 6:00 pm

I am currently enrolled in a Nuc Med Training program through the Veterans Admin. The program is accredited and Government sponsored, i.e. the program has no cost to attend. However the program is full time without pay. I am quickly running out of money and need a private student loan or just a private loan. I have tried all the major banks and student loan lenders but the program I am in is not on the appproved schools list for any of them. My credit score is above 700 and I have a home, (upside down in it of course) and am currently unemployed for school. NEED ADVISE!!!

Unfortunately you probably will not be able to get a student loan that will help cover your cost of living. The only lender who might work with you in this situation is Sallie Mae, but I cannot guarantee anything. They can be reached at 888.272.5543. Other than that your best bet is looking into personal loan options.

You say there is no cost of living. I'm not sure if you've applied for financial or not but cost of living includes housing, transportion, & food in addition to tuition. Even if the program is free, you may still have a cost of attendance based on the other factors. As such, it wouldn't hurt to apply for private loans that look at cost of attendance or even federal stafford or plus loans if thats an option.
