PT Student...no luck finding Student loans..why?

Postby JoLLivermore » Sun Oct 18, 2009 8:42 am

I am finally able to get into Nursing school only to find out that the school I am enrolled into doesn't have any loans available to Part time students. Unfortunately I have to work to pay bills this is why I choose part time and I am really having a hard time locating info for student loans for part timers. Can anyone help me? I have filed for FAFSA and I am allowed for $979 but I need more help. I'm stressing over this so any little bit of knowledge of this would be helpful for me.

What do you mean your school does not have any loans available to part time students? I'm a little confused by that statement.

There are two loan types, federal and private. It appears you are eligible for $979 in the form of a federal Stafford loan, but that you are in need of more funds. Private student loans are the next alternative to make up the cost of attendance difference. You can go to www.privatestudentloans.com to see which lenders work with your nursing school.
