Living off student loans?

Postby MGPlastic » Tue Jan 26, 2010 5:28 pm

I am currently unemployed and am renting a house off campus.
I am here to ask if it would be possible to be to goto school and not work more than 3 days a week.
I have applied for the Stafford but the financial aid advisor at my school is telling me that the most I can get per year is $5500.
I added up all my expenses including rent, food, electric, gas, etc and theres no way I can live off less than $9600 a year.

I know I can take out private loans but are there private loans that I can not start paying on til I graduate?

Last time I went to school I was working full time and it didn't work out, I didn't have time to do anything.

Thanks for your time!

I am not sure if it would be possible for you to go to school while only working three days a week, but it might. There are other financial aid options besides the Stafford loan. Most private student loans do not need to be repaid until after you graduate. There are also a ton of scholarships you could apply for! http://www.StudentScholarshipSearch.com can help you find scholarships that you might qualify for.
