Student loan disbursement

Postby jamesde9999 » Wed Feb 03, 2010 2:34 pm

Hello,

I am in the last semester of my studies and I am only scheduled for four credit hours. My college told me I needed to be scheduled at least 6 hours in order to have the loan disbursed. I was supposed to receive around $2000 for this semester when I filled out the FAFSA. Since I am not elgible for disbursement, what happens to the $2000? Is it still sent to me and do I still have to pay it back?

Thank you.

Yes, in almost all cases you have to be enrolled in school at least half time to receive financial aid. You will not receive the funds so you will not have to pay them back!
